based Windows Live Messenger.
Thirteen million subscribers can chat from
their phones anytime, anywhere from any
mobile device.
The first results after five months show a remarkable 12% traffic increase with
no cannibalization over SMS usage. This
represents a raise of over a million
instant messages per month.

 Celtic Excellence Silver award with new massive
SIM update technology for Mobile TV
Gemalto successfully led the MOVIES project
that was awarded the Silver prize by Eureka,
an intergovernmental body supporting
innovation in Europe. The submission for the
Celtic Excellence Awards competition was
done in collaboration with several
industrial and academic European partners,
all part of the Celtic MOVIES (Mobile Video
and Interactive Services) program.

 The World's first netbook compliant with
Multimedia SIM is now available
ECS, a Taiwan-based PC manufacturer has
launched a netbook with a 3G embedded modem
compatible with Gemalto next generation
Multimedia SIM. Its new features allow
seeing the mass storage capacity of the
Multimedia SIM, enabling to launch
operator’s application set (including
connection manager, personal data management
and storage, multimedia content etc.) when the card is first inserted.
